Global AI Security Awareness Day
Global AI Security Awareness Day gives everyone one day a year to think about their use of AI, to find the unapproved AI in their organisation and close the gaps.
The first awareness day will take place on Tuesday 16 March 2027, then every year thereafter on the third Tuesday of March.

What is the Global AI Security Awareness Day?
Global AI Security Awareness Day is an annual day run by the AICSA with one purpose: to help people understand the security of the AI they use, build and buy. The day brings together people who build AI, people who defend against AI-enabled attacks and people who use AI at work without seeing themselves as part of either group.
Each year has one theme, one free resource pack and one shared goal. Our members help shape each year’s theme, and we release the resource pack ahead of the day so your team has time to plan. Everyone who takes part should leave knowing more about the AI in their organisation than when they started.
How The Day Works
The day has 3 parts, and you decide how far to take each one.
The annual theme
One focused theme each year, chosen with our members. Example topics include shadow AI, agent permissions and AI-enabled phishing.
The 3 Actions
Three practical actions for individuals and three for organisations, each small enough to complete on the day.
The Follow Up
A public roundup, published by the AICSA 30 days later, sharing who took part and what changed.

Why Global AI Security Awareness Day Matters
AI now writes code, answers customers, reads contracts and triages alerts. Attackers use the same tools to write phishing emails, clone voices and probe systems at speed. Many organisations still have no clear record of which AI tools staff use or what data those tools see. Awareness is the first control. People who understand prompt injection, data leakage and over-permissioned agents spot problems sooner and report them faster. One shared day gives security teams a reason to start the conversation, and a date the board will remember.
Who Can Take Part?
Anyone. Individuals, schools, universities, charities, public bodies and businesses of every size, in any sector and any country. You do not need a technical background, and you do not need to be an AICSA member. Taking part is free. Some organisations run internal sessions. Others share the resource pack with staff or host events open to the public. Individuals complete the 3 Actions, share what they learned or join one of our online sessions. Register your support publicly and appear on our supporters wall, or take part privately. Both are equally welcome.
What The Day Asks Of You
Curiosity rather than expertise. Nobody has every AI risk mapped, and the day does not ask you to pretend otherwise. We ask you to look honestly at the AI you use, fix one thing you find and tell someone what you learned. Small steps taken in the open do more than a perfect policy nobody reads. If you have taken the AICSA Responsible AI Pledge, the day is a good moment to act on your commitments.
Register Your Support Today
Register your support today and we’ll send you the resource pack, the 3 Actions and details of our online sessions as each one becomes ready. You’ll also get ideas for running the day in your own team, from a 30-minute lunchtime session to an organisation-wide review of the AI tools your staff use. One person checking one AI tool is a start. Many people doing the same on the same day change how organisations treat AI security, and give everyone a clearer picture of where the risks sit.
